DESCRIPTION

Very good condition. Club crest and Nike swoosh are embroidered. Club sponsor is flock and embossed. Player name/number is flock and heat applied. No pulls, few small bobbles across shirt. One small pinhole underneath sponsor. Colours and stitching in excellent condition. Gunners motif to the lower reverse has minimal wear.

Following the sacking of Bruce Rioch, Arsène Wenger was appointed as his replacement becoming the club's first manager born outside of the British Isles. At the end of the 1996/97 campaign, Arsenal finished 3rd in the Premier League however it was to be a building block for success the following season.

In 1997/98, Wenger led the club to their 1st league title in 7 years and also the 1998 FA Cup, completing the clubs 2nd domestic double and their first since 1971.
