Worn in 1996/97 as Stuttgart claimed 4th spot in the Bundesliga after a competitive race for the European qualifying places. Striker Fredi Bobic was prolific, scoring 19 league goals, forming part of a successful attacking line-up, along with strike partner Giovane Élber and attacking midfielder Krasimir Balakov.

The trio would be known as the 'magic triangle' amongst fans and Elber scored a brace in the final of the DFB Pokal to secure the trophy for the first time in almost 50 years for the club.
